About Precipice

Precipice is painting 6 in the Reverence Series.

It is an original oil painting of a polar bear perched high on an icy precipice, the vibrant colours of a cosmic northern lights adding a sense of mystery and wonder. The polar bear looks down calmly. Whatever the next step is, hopefully it is the frozen sea, so necessary for its survival, that awaits it.

The paintings in the Reverence Series are 12" x 12' oil paintings on canvas and are about reverence to the wonder, beauty and mystery of nature, the arctic, the wild and, of course, the polar bear.

The northern lights aren’t really these colours but I have used my artistic license to emphasize how magical witnessing the aurora is.

Symbolic of our connection to the bear through lifeline and love, the edges of this painting are painted a bright cadmium red, and there are matching highlights on the aurora. 

Precipice ( Reverence 6) is an original oil painting on a 12" x 12' x 1.5” canvas .

It is wired and ready to hang.

Edges are red.

It is signed on the front bottom right.
