This month’s Featured Painting offered at a special price until June 30th, 2025 (11:59 pm EST) is Precipice. Fresh off the easel, this is the 6th oil painting in the Reverence series, and I thought it perfect as the featured painting for June, the sixth month of the year.

About Precipice

A polar bear is seated at the edge of an icy precipice. The vibrant colours of the Northern Lights swirl behind this beautiful bear.

There is another type of “precipice” before our solitary bear as well. Our magnificent polar bear is vulnerable to sea ice loss and we as a planet are at the edge of irreversible change from our warming planet.

But the bear in this painting is good. As in my most of my paintings, it is just outside the picture frame where the worry lies. The cosmic backdrop are invites you to escape into a world of wonder and hope.

The edges of the painting are cadmium red, and cadmium red highlights edge the dancing aurora. The red symbolizes our connection to the bear through lifeline and love, and as always, the northern lights represent hope.

Precipice ( Reverence 6) is an original oil painting on a 12" x 12' x 1.5” canvas .

It is wired and ready to hang.

It is signed on the front bottom right.
