I painted Baby's Breath (Gypsophyla) in this baby bear's flower crown as this flower is symbolic of everlasting love and innocence. "Baby's Breath" is named so because of its delicacy. The flower crown itself is a symbol of nature, tribute and celebration. It reminds us that our lives - nature and humanity, are as intwined as the flowers in the crown.

Purple is a symbol of royalty and for me, mauve becomes "baby" royalty. Mauve is a symbol of sentimentality and romance.

My polar bear paintings are all inspired by the photographs I have personally taken of polar bears.
