October is the time polar bears gather on the Hudson bay shore near Churchill, Manitoba, waiting for the sea ice to freeze. It is a time to celebrate the wonder of polar bears and the return of the sea ice, so necessary for their survival. In fact some call a group of polar bears a celebration. 

Qamutiik is the inuktitut word for sledge or sledge runner. Because of the power paws and the incredible journey a polar bear travels I named this bear, with his paws very evident , this. 

Sitting Pretty is doing just that. This is a beautiful, healthy polar bear patiently waiting.
