About Frozen Dreams

As with most of my paintings, I am inspired by the solitary journey of the beautiful, intelligent and powerful polar bear and its vulnerability to climate change. Frozen Dreams blends the cold, dreamlike imagery of a polar bear in the starkness of the moon, with the sense of mystery and adventure the Arctic holds.

The world is in a very emotional state in 2025, and for this painting I physically created with a more emotional style rather than my usual more realistic one. My brush work is quick and confident, edges and colours blend and soften. The background was created first and then I decided where to placed my bear and decided its stance. Usually this process is the opposite. I know exactly what my polar bear is going to look like, and the background is created to suit it!

This an original oil painting on a 12” x 12” x 1.5 inch wood panel.

The painting carries around the edge. No need to frame. It is wired and ready to hang.

It is signed by the artist, has a unique work completion number (wc#), and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
