More about Curious Bear (Master Corporal Juno Stands)

Curious Polar Bear shows a polar bear standing, patiently watching something out of our viewpoint. To witness a polar bear rise up on their hind legs before you is truly a remarkable thing! They are one tall bear!

Juno , a female polar bear, is the inspiration behind this sketch . She was born at the Toronto Zoo on Remembrance Day and named after Juno Beach. She’s s the official mascot of the Canadian army and holds the honorary rank of Master Corporal.

This mixed media artwork is a sketch in 14B pencil ( a very soft, dark pencil) on canvas with metallic gold acrylic paint in the background and in some highlights. I use gold paint to represent both the treasure polar bears and nature are. But the gold also represents the sun and our warming climate.

This mixed media polar bear art is 24” H x 12”W x 1.5” D. It is wired & ready to hang. The edges are gold.
