Welcome to the official artist website & online original art portfolio of Christine Montague, a Canadian portrait artist & representational oil painter.

With a contemporary brushstroke, Christine paints beautiful, uplifting, realism oil paintings on canvas.

In her portraiture art, Christine is skilled at capturing the subject's spirit as well as the physical likeness. Her subects include Dr. Oscar Peterson, a McGill University Dean, a Lorne Scot private, individual & family portraits.

Her other oil paintings depict familiar subject matter  from an unusual viewpoint with a poignant, humorous or insightful effect. Figurative landscape oil paintings are inspired by family life, summer, & nature in Ontario. Dream Series paintings reflect hope and longing, in spite the fact darkness lurks at the edges. These thoughts are represented by canoes and the lake, polar bears and the northern light sky.
